In this intimate and conceptual photobook, Taiwanese artist John Yuyi transforms a fleeting personal experience into a poignant visual narrative. During the COVID-19 lockdown, Yuyi returned to her native Taiwan and underwent a cosmetic nose surgery, which involved temporarily grafting a piece of her ear bone to reshape her nose. Although medically successful, she quickly regretted the decision and had the procedure reversed two weeks later.
To commemorate this brief transformation, Yuyi embarked on a whimsical project: she took her "new" nose on a date to an amusement park, capturing a series of selfies and moments that reflect on identity, body image, and the ephemeral nature of physical alterations. These images, infused with humor and introspection, are compiled in In Memory Of..., serving as a tribute to the ear bone's short-lived journey.
